Who Cares About Teachers, Anyway?

In today's education crisis, who cares about teachers?   The media is full of  news about exponential school budget cuts, teacher layoffs and classrooms with an uneven mix of behavior problems and a lack of resources.   Teachers are frequently blamed for the falling test scores.  Despite the effects of social ills such as broken families and poverty that loom in the classroom, teachers spend their day attempting to lay an academic foundation despite .  Teachers have the power to influence the path of tomorrow's potential leaders.  Though we hear of companies that invest in students, who cares about teachers?  How can we invest in the future without considering them?
